Aren't the 6A districts for the western part of the state pretty clear?

Dodge City, Garden City, Maize, Goddard
Northwest, North, South, Campus (pretty easy group for the Grizzlies!)
East, Derby, Heights, Southeast

Could you explain this? Is there another way the teams could be grouped according to KSHSAA policies? Having exactly 12 teams in the western area will help City League provide more league games too, since Heights will have two CL district foes (rather than none).

The new classes look pretty interesting. Since I am procrastinating on my research paper, I figured that I would weigh in on the issue. As far as non-football classes go, I was a bit surprised to see Trinity Academy sticking in 3A (albeit the largest school in the class). To see Wichita-Independent gaining a great amount of size was astonishing. I rally had no idea that they have grown that over the past 1-2 years. Looking down the road a bit, 3A hoops should be pretty interesting once again ... I believe that TA returns Lindley and Graddy to a squad that lost to eventual state champion Collegiate. As for Independent, it may be best for them to be in 3A. A new men's coach (Merle Shoffner) with a bunch of seniors should provide for some quality wins for WI.

Oh well. Back to "work."
