Kapaun vs. Carroll

Oct. 4, 2007 @ 8:13 a.m. by Joanna

This is always a big game, of course. I’m sure we’ve all used the lines of cross-town rivals, arch-rivals, battle of the Catholic schools. OK, I’ve never used the latter.

While Kapaun is 3-2 and has been completely owned by Carroll in their past eight meetings — the Eagles have won by a combined 214-58 — Kapaun has done something this year that Carroll failed to do. Beat East.

Is this the year for Kapaun to upend Carroll? Sure, why not? It won’t be easy. Carroll’s defense continues to be ranked at the top of the City League, as it has for the past three years. But Kapaun’s defense showed it can be pretty ferocious as well.

I went to school at SE, my kids go to Kapaun, yes BC has owned Kapaun for 10 years my question is why don’t you remind everyone that Kapaun has more titles than any other school in the city. I would also like to see overall record between the two schools in football. People tend to lose their memory too quick.

My dad played for Coach Kriwiel in 81 and 82 when they won back to back state championships. KMC hasn’t beaten BC in 10 years, and until they do no one is going to talk about anything else. Every year it becomes less of a rivalry.

I am thoroughly convinced that if this coach had Tom Brady, Barry Sanders and Randy Moss in high school, he wouldn’t know what to do with them. Coach we’re calling your plays from the stands!!! It is no wonder that the other team can stop most of the plays that you call. Run, run, pass (3rd and 10). My gosh get creative! If the game plan that you start with doesn’t work, change the darn game plan. If Shane Torgler didn’t have so much natural ability, we wouldn’t have scored at all because it was the same play that didn’t work all night long. The difference in that game was not the players, it was without a doubt the difference in coaching. Geez! If a play works for you (ie slant across the middle) revist the play sometime during the game. I know coach…..sometimes you forget that some of those players are out there! It’s not hard to forget that you’re out there though. Get a grip!

Hello Anthony! Just to inform u, yes Carroll has finally gotten some respect now and for the most part they deserve it. I can definately remember though beating the crap outta Carroll in the 90’s especially my senior year where we beat them 56-0. Close game :) but they have come along way from those trounces and just like everything else things change, hopefully, with a new coach it will all change back our way. It was good to see your still keeping tabs with kansas, how’s your season going?
