Tonight’s game — Southeast vs. South
Oct. 11, 2007 @ 12:38 p.m. by JoannaIt’s obvious to say Southeast and South need this game, the opener to district play. Southeast needs a win to position itself toward advancing to the Class 6A playoffs for the eighth straight year. South needs a win to set itself up for a playoff berth, which would be its first since 1971.
Southeast likely has the edge here. Not only do the Buffaloes have the tandem of Trezz Tillman and Joseph Randle (about 1,200 combined rushing yards) coming out of the backfield, they have a winning streak of two games.
South is hurt by the possibility that quarterback Shane Bowin won’t play. He suffered a dislocated shoulder in last Friday’s win at West. It’s still possible he could play since the injury is to his non-throwing arm. The Titans need him on the field to get a win. He’s the City League’s top QB, with 731 passing yards — that’s nearly 300 more than Kapaun’s Ben VinZant, who is second.
Check out this for updates through the game tonight.
