Sounds like 1 proud parent..."has the best hands in highschool football". dang. throwing him out there aren't ya? just to help you out, he doesn't not have the best hands in high school football. i understand you trying to get your team heard of, but don't go overboard.

...and Sedgwick has no chance against garden plain.

For excitment please turn to the Sedgwick Cardnials football. After 7 years with no more than 3 wins a year Sedgwick brought in a new coach last year by the name of Jeff Werner. In the first year Jeff lead his team to a 4 and 5 record and this year a 6 and 3 record while wining all 3 district games. The Sedgwick Cardnials are the district champions in 3A "Heart of America league". This is the 1st in school history. The Cardnials are real but for them to continue to win in the playoffs it will be required for the senior quarterback and passing record holder, Loren Fields, to pass to Travis McDaniel, #80, who has the best hands in highschool football. Make no-mistake this kid has the vision, speed, talent and may be the most talented wide reciever in Kansas Highschool football and he is just a junior. (this kid is for real) As with most highschool teams we have a tendancy to pass to the seniors but I can tell you that if the Cardnials are to win in the playoffs they will have to get the ball to Mcdaniel. This is a must see kid. If you enjoy seeing a profesional in a junior highscool kid package then you really need to get to the Cardinals game. They are for real and if they will find a way to get the #80 kid the ball they may very well take the 3A state championship. Yes, that means beating Gardin Plan but this team has the talent and the coach. Thanks and we hope to see you at the Cardnials game Tuesday night.

I traveled all the way to Smith Center to watch my then boyfriend (starting half back for Conway Springs) play against them in the 1998 season. Smith Center was a machine even back then. They had not just beaten teams, they decimated them. I will never ever forget that game. Coach Mark Bliss and his boys defeated the monster, 9-7. It was one of the best football games I have ever seen played in my entire life. Including college and professional. It was unbelievable! Of course, Conway Springs went on to win State that year. They were fantastic! And I have to tell you, I am really digging the Mulvane prediction. These boys are working so hard and have overcome so much. They are IN!!!

Did I hear that Smith Center lost three players a few weeks ago and the kids that replaced the starters didn't miss a beat? If i heard correctly, they lost two running backs and a wide receiver? Wow! Most 2A schools lose one kid and the season could be in jeopardy.

Question.... Has a school in Kansas (at any HS level) ever gone the entire season and not been scored on?

Smith Center is the real deal folks... Simply incredible....

Maybe Coach Barta will replace Bill Callahan (smiles)

I saw Liberal play earlier in the year at GB. They look soft and didn't seem to have any Senior leadership. Carroll will dog them bad.

Joanna and Duane, have you seen Smith Center play this year? I hope you have at least watched them on DVD, because they are truly a machine. I know the teams down there keep you busy, but sneak away if you get the chance. You'll enjoy it thoroughly.

Mac should win by 50 or more. Hays is dreadful, despite the Hays Daily News keep ma trying to make of chicken salad out of you know what. I've never seen a paper fawn over two bad teams worse than the HDN does over Hays High and TMP.

It is Mac at Hays. Oh yeah and if it were basketball season you would have moved us up to number one after beating the number one team.
