Tonight’s games (10-25)

Oct. 26, 2007 @ 12:02 a.m. by Joanna

The biggest news of the night, according to yours truly, is Rose Hill advances in the Class 4A playoffs (props to my co-worker Duane Frazier on calling this one). Rose Hill did what it needed to do with a big win over Augusta, then got some help from Andover Central, which beat Andover by 11. Not bad for a team that’s 4-5. I know I still wouldn’t want to play Rose Hill, despite the struggles the Rockets have had. Too much experience in this program with playing in the postseason.

Bryce Brown breaks the City League rushing record — which he set last year as a sophomore — by rushing for 178 yards. He didn’t play in the first quarter, for what was termed “internal issues,” and played one series of the second quarter. He had a 67-yard touchdown run to open the second half, got the record on a 19-yarder. He also threw a 48-yard touchdown pass.

Collegiate beats Independent 34-27 to advance to the playoffs.

Hesston wins big again, as does Garden Plain. Dare I even say anything about these two teams? There’s sure a lot of comments on the Garden Plain vs. Hesston post. Loving the interaction, and this game, if it happens (which it should) will be outstanding to watch.

Soccer – Kapaun beats Winfield to advance to the 5A quarterfinals, and Anthony Cantele scores twice. He’s a god. Heights advances to the 6A quarterfinals for the first time in three years. Not a bad year for first-year coach Brent Lewis. Southeast beats Northwest to advance, as well — Colin Lawter scored on a penalty kick for the win.

I would post a reply but I have “internal issues.”

Give me about 15 minutes and I should be fine.

I can’t wait for Tuesday nights big games. Rose Hill may have some power, but Mulvane is going to dominate. These kids are playing a fairytale season, and they have already beat Rose Hill once this year. Props to the Rockets for getting this far, but Mulvane’s going to win this one.

Carroll kicks tonight. Liberal good ? ,,,,, Maybe back in the 90’s. I am tired of hearing about the games from the past. I don’t even know how they made it into the play-offs. After winning the city league the EAGLES are ready to make a run for the state championship. WE ARE READY!!!

I think Mulvane’s run ends Tuesday night. Rose Hill running game has hit high gear with 355 & 202 the last 2 games.

You think xc sucks cuz you can’t do it. You can’t run 3.1 miles and compete. Bet you couldn’t keep up with the girls either.

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article s games (10-25), but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
