are you kidding? we can’t beat anybody, not even yo mama.

Bishop Carroll as 5A champs? Wow. Put down the kool-aid. They’d better get out their passing game, because they will be severly tested in the running game when Newton comes to town. Did you see what they did to Kapaun? Torgler had 20 carries for ONE yard! The team was something like 30 carries for SEVEN yards. Newton’s run defense is the real deal. If Carroll throws it well, that is Newton’s weakness. If they can’t, they might not even get past the Railers.

smith center has another thing comin if they think they can get past meade in sub-state!!!

I cannot believe that South Haven is not getting picked to take it all in 8-man Div II. Checking who Sharon Springs has played, they have beat more sub .500 teams than South Haven. These picks for who is number one and two, how do they get that? I mean these reporters don’t come out to see us play, how do they know? There are a bunch of really good football teams, and players out here. All I have to say is good luck to all of them! Play hard and leave it all on the field!!!

I’m going Lansing for 5A champs.

Hutch is the odds on favorite for 6A but don’t overlook Olathe North they are pretty strong again. In 5A look for Tom Young’s MacPherson team to match up with Blue Valley West. If Mac is tied or ahead at the half look out because Tom is probably the best halftime Coach. In 4A If Logan Dold stays healthy look for Andale to egde Ft Scott in the finals. Silver Lake rolls in 3A. Pitt-Colgan in 2-1A and eight man is too unpredictable but I’d go with Clifton-Clyde in Div 1 and South Haven in Div 2. 6A matchups locally will be good games except for another thrashing of Maize by Hutch. Southeast got a break when Emporia upset Junction City but the Buffs need to find a defense. If they do they could win this game.Derby has its hands full with Junction but the Panthers have been putting up points and the defense as been good enough the past few weeks. However it has been against mostly city league celler dwellers. I will pick Derby because they are on a roll. Northwest and Goddard will be a dog fight. I am not sure If Northwest has faced a large defensive front like Goddards. Chris Harper will have to find some passing yards to win this game becasue Goddard can stuff the run. Although at home I am picking Northwest to lose in a tight game.
If Kapaun gets by Salina Central they will be hard pressed to beat Mac. Like wise with BC against Newton and possibly Great Bend.

October 30th, 2007 at 2:47 pm
Hillsboro in 3A will come out of their shell and take it all
October 30th, 2007 at 3:13 pm
seriously! has everone forgot about Hillsboro? They got 3rd place last year barely falling to garden plain last year. they have sedgwick tonight and after that probably collegiate who hillsboro fell short during the season a couple points. Hillsboro is gaining their focus back and is a more physical team than last year. Bring on Logan Dold and the owls.

I am so sorry, but Cedar Vale will fall tonight, South Central (Coldwater) fell to South Haven by 22 points, the Cardinals ran out the clock with three kneel downs on their 12 yard line to end the game, it could have been a 30 point loss. Cedar Vale fell to Udall who also fell to South Haven, by a bunch! I like Cedar Vale, but they will fall tonight if they are unable to stop Coldwater’s Quarterback, he can run and pass very, very well. Coldwater also plays some fine defense, they really hit hard, so Cedar Vale should get ready!
October 30th, 2007 at 4:54 pm
Ron, thanks for the vote of Confidence, South Haven should be able to take it, the games are going to be tough from here on out, but I know that their coach will have them ready! They are playing very hard for their fallen teammate, who they lost in their game against Attica. They are on a mission!!

October 31st, 2007 at 6:45 pm
Scott you are right my apologies to Logan and the Garden Plain team. He’s a fine athlete and should fit in at K_State. AT least that is where I was told he was leaning.
