Here's 2 questions that we'd love to hear from khsaa on:
1. There are always teams that have to travel 3 or 4 hours for playoff games. This gives the home team a great advantage. Travelling on any bus - even with a 'real' bus- is very tiring and puts that team at a great disadvantage. Why not play at a neutral site that's half way inbetween towns that far apart. That way both teams have travelled equally & neither one has an inherit advantage.

2. Why the strict ban on coaches and team camps / practices during the summer, and ban on early practice? Having practices 3 or 4 weeks before school starts would let everyone get acclimated to working out in the heat with pads before pratcies and games start.
Thx.

I agree with Onlooker, here in Houston the kids are playing while in elem school i think and the jr high schools all have teams and mascots.........when i lived in Wichita they had something like biddy football, (i can't recall the name of the organization) but I don't think that it really had an effect on the level of play as the kids graduated to high school football.

Football will continue to be bad in Wichita until junior high football starts. Which will be never. There are those kids that start playing when they are younger in different leagues but all that does is give a select few the opportunity to learn and get better. There are kids that come in as freshman that have never played contact football before and are superior athletes. If they had started at a younger age, Wichita would be much more dominant.

The state of football in Wichita is so bad that Bishop Carroll is ranked 5th in the Eagle Top 10 and four teams are in the playoffs.

What is the Eagle's reasoning for ranking Bonner Springs ahead of Lansing? Lansing beat Bonner on the road and has a 7 game winning streak. I know the rankings don't determine champions, but from year to year, it helps to give state-wide credibility to programs. Just curious, thanks.
