You have to face the facts, guys are more exciting to watch them girls. I would rather watch a high school boys basketball game over a professional womens game. (basketball)

One must remember that just because a player states that they are going to a D1 school, does not neccesarily mean they are getting a scholarship. The Andover girl going to KSU is not on scholarship. She is a walk-on. She figured out like so little girls in the area that there is no room at WSU to play. Her parents went there and that is where she wanted to go. So she won’t be signing a NLI in November. I also assume that a few other players are not on scholarship. Joanna would be. So congrad to her.

I notice that when the area boys commit there are headlines and interviews but when the girls go well its just not the same. I mean the Shockers got 3 area boys and it was all over the media. The shocker women get a commitment from a local area (Derby) JUNIOR and nothing on it. now another Derby JUNIOR is headed for Oklahoma and still nothing. It is time our young girls have some athletes to look up to also. There are some female athletes in the area that are very much deserving of some media attention but all seems lost on the boys. Sorry Francis, Tiffany is a girl so dont expect any attention.

Missouri hits this area hard. They also picked up Labette County’s Kendra Frazier. All is not lost for the Shockers however as Derby super shortstop junior Sammie Snook has given the softball team a verbal. Bluntly put, Sammie is a player. Joanna’s sister at Colorado isn’t just a Big 12 player, she is pre-season ALL-BIG 12.

Are there any Wichita high school basketball players (boys and girls) who you think will make an impact at the college level? Has Kim Lashley (am not sure of the spelling of her last name) improved enough at South that she may make a splash on the college level?
