It's a lose-lose proposition for the Big Schools, ask schools like Garden City and Dodge and Liberal that have lost to the likes of Ulysses in the past. Just an example. 2. The BIG SCHOOLS can or do "PLATOON" (allow kids to play only on offense or defense specifically) and the small schools kids typically play both ways. This could allow for a bigger school to wear a smaller school out (THEORETICALLY) inthe second half specifically in the fourth quarter. This is only Theory and When Ulyssses beat Garden and Liberal a few years ago, Ulysses had kids playing both ways, but not 100% both ways...... We've seen some smaller schools platoon, in fact I'm not sure during Collegiates good days if all of their good players played both ways.... Makes for a good argument..... We may not see it a lot in FB, but 1A Centralia beat 4A and #5 ranked Holton at volleyball. It will happen repeatedly this year at basketball, and if there were more opportunities, you would see it in football. Again, that is only the small schools with powerhouse programs.
