We’ll preview 50 area teams over the next two weeks, plus capsule previews of every team in a five-county area. We’ll also have schedules, league predictions and what to watch for on opening night.

Great girls article this morning Joanna on the pairs of players on all those teams. Girls basketball this season in the area will be well worth the price of admission. Wish you would have had room to include Goddards Lindsey Keller and Ashley Hart though.

I have never watched a good girls basketball game. Every one i’ve seen is long and BORING! And i have seen state championship games with D1 girls playing…on both teams.

Derby’s Coach Herrs is a joke. Mulvane was glad to get rid of him and I wonder how long it will be before Derby shows him the door. Probably Derby’s best three point shooter didn’t waste his time going out this year as did another Senior who was a leader in rebounding and scoring on the JV team that went 16-3 last year. Four other Seniors were told they would probably not see any playing time but could stay around and be practice players and then they will get their letter. Why isn’t that special. I will support the players but not the Coach. Last year he cut 4 Seniors who had played since grade school. Two could have really helped the team.

I am not liking the way you guys are doing the basketball previews. I used to look forward to opening up the special section on the thursday before the first game and reading a great preview on each team. You also included preseason rankings for each league and top returners in the state. This year it seems like high school basketball is an after thought. You guys did a big preview on football, I guess you if Bryce Brown played basketball it would get more pub.
