The Rivalry is in tact
Jan. 4, 2008 @ 5:59 p.m. by Jeff LutzI got about 37 WWE (for those old school fans, this what the WWF is now called) books and DVDs for Christmas, and I’ve basically had pro wrestling on the brain for the last week or so. This is nothing new — I’m a pretty big fan, and I’m not ashamed to admit it.
I bring this up because I saw Garrius Holloman, the East senior, and Southeast star Jordan Cyphers on the opposite sides of Koch Arena a few minutes ago. I noted to myself, rather jokingly, that the mystique of the East-Southeast rivalry was in tact because these two, possibly friends for all I know, weren’t fraternizing with one another before tomorrow’s big game.
Then I thought about something to compare that to. I decided that seeing Cyphers and Holloman together tonight would equate to seeing Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant hanging out before WrestleMania III. That was the biggest match in history at the time, and even the fans who knew wrestling was fake would have cringed at the sight of the two rivals together.
So for those of you holding out that basketball is real and that Southeast and East’s players really don’t like each other, you have good news from Koch Arena tonight.

Bishop Miege knocked off 6A defending champion Blue Valley West 52-33 Friday night so Southeast could come out No. 1 with a win tonight.

Where is Tact? Is it in Kansas?
Or do you mean “intact?”
