Arthur Brown’s CSTV ranking

Jan. 23, 2008 @ 1:26 p.m. by Joanna

CSTV’s Tom Lemming has ranked East linebacker Arthur Brown as the No. 5 player in the class of 2008. It’s his final ranking.

No surprise here on the ranking. Even though Arthur finished his senior year by missing the final three games, he made his mark. No doubt about it.

Arthur is a good player, but he’s not the 5th best player in the nation. I would check rivals.com for a more accurate ranking.

  2. opportunity knocks says:

Rivals also lists him as the most outstanding player for the winning East team in the U.S. Army Bowl which had the top players in it. He received the game ball.

  3. DH says:

Rivals list him #23, which is more accurate the #5. The U.S. Army Bowl didn’t have every top player in it.

So the Army bowl only fielded 100 of the nations top 150 players. That must mean Arthur was playing against such horrible players he just shined. You are, for lack of a better term, a HATER!! Arthur was the best defensive player on either side. The #1 LB in the country was there too. Arthur is just behind him at #2. I could be wrong but i dont think the #1 guy even recorded a tackle, Arthur had 6 and he only played every other possesion. So next time why dont you just say “Congrats” and move on, okay?

  5. Austin says:

oh and if you look at the rankings for “Best Closing speed”, Best Run-stopper” and things like that on rivals, Arthur is ranked higher than the #1 LB in 4 out of the 5.

  6. DH says:

Arthur was #7 on the “U.S. Army All-American Bowl Final Hot 11.” All I said was he wasn’t the 5th best player in the nation… Nigel Bradham was going against 3 of the fastest QB’s in their class. It would have been a better match up if Arthur was on the other side.

  7. ok says:

nigel and arthur were on the same team!! So they were goign against the same QB’s..

And Pryor, Gray, and Jackson were on the east team to. So neither one was going against the 3 fastest qb’s. Get your facts straight!!

The reason he was number 7 was because they took all things in account including the week of practice. However if you go on to read, it also said that in the game he was the best defensive player on either side. I dont know bout you but I judge players on what they do on the field of play.

Does it really matter at this point?

Did they really need to start another Arthur Brown blog about a rating?

There was a time when the blogs were fairly interesting. This was a whole worthless sentences.

Make that a whole “five” worthless and “needless” sentences.

I agree that at this point rankings are pretty meaningless. He’s already with Miami, so it has nothing to do with recruiting, and nobody is going to care about anyone’s rankings when practices start. Best wishes to Arthur. He’s a class act. Let me tell you something a teacher at East told me. On the first day of school, he walked into the room, shook her hand, and said, “Thank you for teaching me (name of subject).” That doesn’t happen often.

Arthrur and his family are all claas acts. He will be one of the top linebackers in the country, but not because of the rankings, but because of his attitude to get better and his work ethic. I wish hin the best of lucK!
