Your comments (1-24)
Jan. 24, 2008 @ 9:49 p.m. by JoannaThere aren’t many comments on this blog — where are all the people from football season? Do you readers care more about football than basketball? Just curious.
Here’s one comment — from RikRok about the Arthur Brown ranking:
“Does it really matter at this point? Did they really need to start another Arthur Brown blog about a rating? There was a time when the blogs were fairly interesting. This was a whole worthless sentences.”
I find this interesting because what are people reading and commenting about — Arthur Brown. Not Carl Taylor, not Jordan Cyphers’ minor elbow injury from a hard fall in Tuesday’s game. They’re certainly not talking about girls basketball.
Yet I write about Arthur Brown and I get 12 comments. Interesting.

Nobody wants to talk about girls basketball. I want to talk about sports that I can watch and not fall asleep.

Matt, you are really showing your level of intelligence. Come watch the AC women play. It is more exciting than some boys games I have witnessed.

Maybe it is just simply a matter of interest between football and basketball. That is what it tells me. People in this city and I guess state/nation since we are on the internet, are more interested in football than basketball at the high school level.
Plus this new SpamBam thing you guys are using has blocked most of the comments from people and alot aren’t getting posted. That could be another reason. I have noticed on other blogs at Kansas.com that some have zero responses but something like 10 or 12 are under “filtered” and never show up.

Jan,
I believe I have watched a AC game. Back in 06 when they were in the State tournament… I was waiting to watch the BP vs Scott City game and I think i feel asleep trying to watch that game. I’m sure their games are a little bit more interesting then 7th and 8th grade boys games.

I think yall do fine. Although when you ask for suggestions to help make the site better, then dont respond to ideas presented by the reader it could have a negative affect. But other than that i think ya’ll do fine. Sports blogs are what the Blogger thinks about sports, it doesnt have to be clean cut or perfect its the Bloggers personal opinion. If you want to write about football during b-ball season, go for it, its your blog.

Those weren’t comments about your Arthur Brown blog, that was just the same ol’ Brown, Brown & Butler folks yipping back and forth.
Stick some other football player’s name up there and hear the crickets chirp.

This is for Matt G. Don’t know who you are, but you are not a real sports fan. A real sports fan would love any sport if it was played by girls or boys.

Wushock,
If I have to like girl’s basketball to be a “real sports fan,” then I’m ok with not being one.

I would rather see a boys game. I have to say that you dont see a ball sent into the stands off a block at a girls game. Boys games are just more exciting, girls just dont have the athletic ability that boys/men do, sorry.

Matt,
In case no one has informed you, it is 08.These girls are really good, and yes, they block shots. The only thing i haven’t seen them do is dunk.

Jan,
It is 08…. wow I didn’t notice. Everybody blocks shots, I saw some 3rd grader block a shot last weekend. I’m sure they are really good for girls, I just don’t like girls basketball. Its slow and they drag out games.
