Arthur Brown’s a PARADE All-American

Jan. 29, 2008 @ 2:42 p.m. by Joanna

As I posted earlier on Kansas.com, East linebacker Arthur Brown is a PARADE All-American. No surprise here. Just one more honor for a standout athlete.

We’ll be receiving a plaque to present to him, but Arthur’s already on to bigger and better — the University of Miami. No doubt he’s already entrenched in football, football, football. Oh, academics, too.  No doubt there’s quite a transition to college life, all while still essentially a high school senior.

I don’t know if I would want to head to college midway through my senior year. Not that I had a chance; certainly wasn’t anywhere near his level. But senior year was an excellent year.

Then again, college was an amazing time of my life, so different from high school. The cliques disappear, the parties improve, the classes become more intriguing, usually. A lot of my high school friends preferred high school. Not me. Give me college any day.

Many football players leave to get in some practice with the team in the off-season. I think its a good move. I read a story about twin brothers who left highschool early, they both played Offensive gaurd, they were expected to red shirt but instead started with each other thier freshmen season. Going early is a good idea

Hey, another Arthur Brown blog entry!

Bryce Brown is still in high school. Maybe that should have its own blog entry.
