Bryce to the Canes, too

Feb. 21, 2008 @ 6:39 p.m. by Kirk Seminoff

This is up on Kansas.com.

East High junior Bryce Brown, the City League’s career rushing leader with one season to play, has given Miami (Fla.) an oral commitment and will follow his older brother Arthur to the Hurricanes.

Bryce Brown told Rivals.com this afternoon that the time seemed right to make the commitment.

“The first thing about it, is that I’ve been feeling Miami spiritually for the past few weeks,” Brown told the Web site. “God was telling me that this was the best decision for me, and everybody in my family was comfortable with it.

“I’ve been feeling this for a month now, and I think it’s a really good fit. It’s the right decision for me.”

Brown rushed for a league-record 1,850 yards last season and has 5,158 yards in three years. Older brother Arthur, a Parade All-American linebacker, signed with Miami earlier this month. He has already enrolled at the university to be there for spring football.

But while he gave Miami coach Randy Shannon the commitment, Bryce Brown told Rivals.com that he will still take recruiting visits to other schools, such as Ohio State and West Virginia.

“They might very well be a school that has something for me also, but I’m confident in my decision to commit to Miami,” Brown told Rivals.com.

Miami produces NFL players, especially RB’s and LB’s. Arthur Brown will not be the next Ray Lewis….. He will be better!!!…….. He is an original not a copy……… Bryce Brown will be the best RB that Miami has ever had period!!! College Football is in for a treat for the upcoming years with these two Men of Character!! They will influence the masses of people not just with their Talent but with the LIGHT that they possess inside of them, Much blessings to the Browns and their future careers!!!

Congrats to Bryce. I just have one question… if he is still going to take offical visits then why did he give a verbal commitment? And for the Quana person, your saying that Bryce is going to be better then Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee, and Ottis Anderson?

I’m just wondering if God says it’s Miami and it’s the right decision, will Ohio State or WV have the power to override Him?

Clinton Portis, Donnell Bennett, Najeh Davenport, Frank Gore, Derrick Harris, Edgerrin James, James Jackson, Willis McGahee, and Jarrett Payton … just to name a few.

Let’s let Bryce finish high school before annointing him Miami’s best RB ever.

At least let’s let him sign on the dotted line with Miami. Afterall, he still feels the need to take more visits, so it can’t be a 100 percent done deal.

I am not Brian Butler, and I do believe Bryce will be better than those past Miami Rb’s. Those Rb’s were great but Bryce is very special and he will go farther than people think…… People have a right to their opinion, this is mine…..Bryce will prove many people wrong…… what he does on the field will speak for itself…….
