Name your program of the year

I got this idea when my dear friend Dave Phillips passed along a link to me about which college program is No. 1. Now, he sent this to me because he’s a huge KU fan. I mean, huge. I went to Missouri. Whatever. I cheer for Kansas teams because I live here. I jump on Mizzou’s bandwagon, because I can.
Anyway, I want you to name your high school program for girls, and your high school program for boys. This doesn’t have to be only in the Wichita area. I would love to include the rest of the state. Feel free to chime in.
But as I always say — you have to back it up. Don’t just say Southeast. Tell me why, dang it!
I know this is a little premature, being we’re two-thirds of the way through the school year, but we’ll do this again after spring sports end.
As for my answer? I just don’t know yet. I’ll have to take a look at how teams finished up in sports beyond football and basketball. I know you have your favorites, though.

As a Southeast fan, I’m going to have to say….
Bishop Carroll. 2nd in 5A state (football, boys basketball, girls basketball) and also some high City League finishes as well (boys and girls cross country, girls bowling, girls golf, girls tennis). Don’t forget about their baseball and track and field teams who are expected to do big things this spring.

This might be a long shot but the kids from Mulvane have had two great seasons. (compared to what they had been for many seasons before)
Lost only 1 game in football and were rolling in basketball until they were plagued with injury.

Maybe not the Program of the Year, but DEFINITELY the Most Improved

To add to what BeeF had written, Mulvane also won boys 4a state cross country. Pretty sure they are one of the best in all of Kansas.

Hard to argue against BC. I like Highland Park, my choice for top team in the state the past two years in BB. Unfortunately, there isn’t the same distircting policy in Topeka, so athletes can basically chose to go where they want and stack a team.

Without doing a lot of homework, I’ll say Bishop Carroll.
Didn’t they do well in wrestling too?
And drinking? (Sorry, had to.)

I would have to say Goddard. Volleyball went to state tourney, Girls B-Ball 2nd in state, football top 4 in 6A, Baseball will be one of the top teams, softball ranked in the top 4, girls soccer one of the top teams with the best player in the state, girls track (3-time league champs), and wrestling state champs with 5 individual state titles. Don’t count out tennis or boys golf.
