I love seeing the number of people voting on the mythical matchup. Although one of you did call me out for it being so much after the season. I know, I know. But I know what kind of following basketball has in this area and this state. Besides, I’m looking for ways to keep this blog viable and interesting. As I’ve mentioned before, I refuse to just keep putting the Browns in my title just to get you all coming back.

Onto my next thing, the random notes.

How about Carroll’s Jordan Keller winning the 119 pound class at the National High School Coaches Association’s senior nationals? Congrats to him.

Two other Kansans did well — Rossville’s Duane Zlatnik took seventh at 285 pounds, while Shawnee Heights’ Atticus Disney (formerly of Andover Central) took fifth.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association confirmed that its wrestling sites for state in 2009 will be 3-2-1A at Hays and 4A at Salina, while 5A and 6A will be back at the Kansas Coliseum. I personally liked 6A at Koch Arena because it was such an intimate atmosphere. It still felt like a state championship time.

The state is trying to figure out how to handle the state bowling tournaments. Right now the boys and girls in 6A and 5-1A are held on the same day, which has led to unbelievably crowded conditions. The alleys just aren’t big enough to hold all the fans of the huge number of athletes. But the state is looking at having boys on one day (Friday or Saturday) and girls on the other, alternating each year. Probably a good idea.
