My interesting job

There’s no doubt that this job is never boring. No doubt about it.

Last night I spent the evening freezing my limbs off in the icy cold while covering Heights vs. Bishop Carroll. By the time I moved after each game, I was so stiff that I could hear the creaking as I slowly made my way to walking upright. Ugh. Yet those players were in shorts. Shorts! It’s not like softball is basketball where you’re constantly moving. You stand around in the outfield or infield and you have to be cold as all get out. I was even colder watching them.

Just now I heard sports editor Kirk Seminoff telling a caller different ways of  weighting an NCAA tournament bracket. Last night a caller was trying to score a newspaper from Tuesday. He was persistent all right, even when he was told that  we didn’t have any extras in the newsroom.

Ah, it’s a glorious life.
