For me personally, Jerry was a great friend. I taught with Jerry from 1996- 1999. Those three years at Hanston were probably the three best years of my teaching career. The community and the faculty I was with were oustanding. Jerry was a big part of that. When I had times where I was frustrated about something, Jerry was there to encourage me and just make me laugh. I am sad to see Jerry go but I am happy to know that I will see him again. He played for Mr. Slaton, and I took defensive stats. He had a huge impact on both my son and daughter. He was more than a coach, he was a true mentor to all who really got to know him. He may have benn short in stature, but he was a giant in alot of lives. He will truly be missed. I moved my family to Hanston in 1989 when my son was just starting his freshman year.
