Some Goddard love

Goddard soccer coach Scott Harder sent me this video below of a recent track clinic (April 29) at the high school that the girls soccer team and the track team put on for the Special Olympics athletes. He said they’re planning a volleyball clinic in the fall along with their usual soccer clinic.
It’s a nice video and, as Harder said, it’s nice to see high school athletes doing right. Here you go — special-olympics-spring-2008.wmv

Coach Harder is a great teacher and great role model for us students to follow.

We do have good teachers, good principals, and some of the best coaches around.

It’s encouraging to see that schools are taking the lead on an idea that got it’s inception in the Maize School System and has branched out very nicely. The Friendship Club brings together physically and mentally challenged students with typical high school students of all backgrounds. In this instance, high school athletes and special needs athletes were brought together to help promote understanding and acceptance of our differences and limitations in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Various situations and scenarios such as shopping, picnics, dances, etc…take place and have been a huge success.

what is wrong with our football coaches? Had a good year this past season with a great senior class.
