Just wanted to make a note that Steve Eck is not a reader of this blog. He e-mailed me just now to point out that other people tell him about stories on blogs and he doesn't like to go to blogs because of the responses on the blogs. He did say he was sorry that he's not a reader of the blog. I won't hold it against him.

CLParent, that freshman you were talking about is Tahlia Pope, who also played basketball for Heights. She finished second in the 100 hurdles to teammate Kristine Glenn (the girl who really bit it in the prelims and still finished strong) and second in the long jump to Southeast's Sylvia Alexander. Pope finished first in the high jump.

I planted the flowers for the graduation party and Mother's day. Didn't see any games but the ones of interest turned out the way we wanted.

Hope you had a wonder Mother's Day.

I went to the CL track meet at Heights. Saw some pretty good stuff. The boys 4 X 1 race was awesome. Heights boys won. Keith Hayes is a stud in the Hurdles. Southeast has a great overall team in the girls and boys. Also saw a Freshmen girl at Heights take 1 first and 2 second places in her events I believe they were the high jump, long jump, and 110 hurdles. I don't know a lot about track but isn't that a pretty good start to a high school career for a freshment?

Don't know about baseball but Maize swept Northwest in softball.

Maize won the first game 3-0. Maize scored all 3 runs in the 1st inning. White picked up the win and Odell gets her first lose.

Second game, Maize won 7-2. Anna Scheuffele (Sp?) gets the win with Millspaugh getting the lose. Taylor Funk had a very nice 2 run homer in the top of the 6th inning.

Maize will be the 3 seed with a 17-3 record. Northwest will be the 4 seed with a 16-4 record. These two will most likely see each other in the Regional Finals (Just like last year).

Will Maize get revenge from last year? OR
Will it be third times a charm for NW?
