Yes I am one of the unfortunate parents that have a daughter that chose soccer. Don't get me wrong I've been to hundreds of games (I rarely miss) in the last nine years starting with the "Y" league. I have seen too many games at the High School level that end in a 0 to 0 tie, 1 to 1 etc. only to be resolved with PK's. It seems to me that a goal is scored somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 shots on goal. Many times the winning team will have far less shots, which generally equates to an inferior team, and walk away with the "W". The only resolution I can come up with is make the goal wider. More scoring, a higher percentage of superior talent teams would win, and low and behold there would be more than just parents in the seats! High School soccer. No wonder kids turn to gangs and drugs instead of positive things like sports. Nobody reports the stories around here. They only report the scores. Your paper should have a youth section. Yet their times are better than the #11-#16 girls who qualified for state. It's not fair to these girls who work so hard all year and don't make it because their in the toughest regional in Kansas. All times should be considered if you want the "true" top runners in Kansas at the state track meet. Drivers not merging into traffic correctly....they just assume you are suppose to move over for them when they come down the ramp? Excuse me...can you say YIELD? Drivers getting in a right turn lane (say like on Kellogg and Rock Rd.) and they aren't turning right...which means they have backed up all the right turn lane traffic behind them....until the light changes. Self-centered drivers in a drive thru....the line is so long in the drive thru and they don't move their car up so the car behind them can give their order or pay at window #1. Obviously they think they are the only ones in the line....or perhaps they are "texting" while waiting or they just don't care that their car is taking 2 spaces in line. Referees who think they have to be a part of the "show".....Most spectators want you to be invisible. I don't want to remember you after the game believe me. Oh and why did we change the rule in basketball games to have to pay 3 referees????.....seriously two will suffice.
