All done in Manhattan (for today, anyway)

May 23, 2008 @ 10:10 p.m. by Levi Wolters

Wichita Independent fans, you still have two undefeated teams. Baseball romped to a 12-2 win early this afternoon. A little tougher for the softball ladies, who beat Belle Plaine with a “walk-off” walk in the bottom of the seventh for the 3-2 win. A really great game that was. Belle Plaine, playing Independent for the fifth — FIFTH!!! — time this season was certainly upset-minded. Just too many walks.

I haven’t been the best updater today, and I apologize. I went to school for four years at K-State, and I’m pretty sure I drove more around town today — mostly between the baseball and softball fields — than I did in those four years. Good thing gas is reasonable.

I’ll be back tomorrow. Blogging baseball, and hopefully updating softball better than I did today.

Wow, what a freaky game. Tuttle and Stewart were pretty good tonight in the circle, but Independent did not hit well tonight. These two teams should not have had to play at state.

Bull, thats the way the bracket worked out. Belle Plain 0-5 First four games combined 57-9 score. Sorry.
