Do I need to say more? Or is that title long enough for you?

Here’s what it is: It’s an national All-Star camp in Orlando, where the players — Bryce Brown (East), Jaydan Bird (Conway Springs and Blake Bell (Carroll) — who are some of the “nation’s top prep football players” according to the news release, will spend three days in training with former NFL players and coaches. “The Football University’s All-Star Camp will focus on teaching technique and skill to the players, as well as show players how they stack up against the nation’s best just weeks before their season openers.”

Other invitees are RB Cierre Wood (ranked No. 1 by rivals.com), athlete Patrick Hall, receiver Randall Carroll, d-back Darius Winston, receiver Shaquelle Evans, receiver Rolando Jefferson, athlete Logan Thomas.

The instructors include Perry Williams, Andre Rison, Rich Bartel and Lorenzo White.

The camp is Saturday through Monday and it appears that all three will attend.

bryce brown and jaydan bird both played little league football for the wichita cowboys,a team that lost 1 game in 6 years in the city league.the loss was to the bulldogs the first time they played them.the cowboys then went on to smash the dogs the next 8 times they met.that cowboys team is the best to ever have played in wichita, they had an overall record of 118 and 7 in 6 years of play.they have many more players that will also be getting football scholarships.there were 22 players on that team and at least 10 of them will play college football.no other team in city league history can claim that.

What an honor! I am a little surprised that Bell got an invite when he is not a proven QB yet, maybe they are going off of his receiving skills. Congratulations to all, best of luck!

I remember those Bulldog vs Cowboy games very well I was at them and far from smashing the Bulldogs .I do agree that was a good team though ,I have had a chance to get to know several of them over the years some of the others from that team were Garret Kraft , Rico Huggins and Chris Boyd.Although your claim about not any team in City League ever had as many go to college for Football, you actually had 2 for sure .They were the Panthers when they were at Southeast and went on to play for Southeast winning State Championship 2 out of 3 years. Also had to make a rule in Shrine Bowl because to many from Southeast were on it.
Also don’t know where the Press Release came from but there was a Elite Football University Camp in Denver also that had some players in Wichita were invited to also ,same people ran this event, with same NFL players as coaches.
Football University is ran by the people who put on the Army All -American Game and teamed up with Rivals and NCSA.Congradulations to the 3 going to Orlando and those who went to the event in Denver.

in the 8 games that the cowboys beat the dogs only 1 game was closer than 16 points. twice the dogs got mercy ruled.the dogs did have some good players as well but they never learned to play as a team and would always fold when things got rough.i dont think they ever won an out of town tournament and that is how you truely test how good your team is.every year they would lose at least one game to an easy opponent because they got lazy and overlooked someone.

Again you are wrong with your information.8th Grade year which is when it counts they went to Lawrence at the end of the season and went 5 - 0 to win that State Tournment. If you were at 8 th grade game at Grove Park and can tell me you feel the Cowboys smashed them you are lost my friend. It was back and forth but truely a good game. But I am done living in past, this blog is about some good kids doing great things .Good Luck again to the Players going to FBU, It was a fun time and they will love it.

8th grade year at grove the dogs did lead by 6 at half time, but they did not score after that and the cowboys scored 22 points in the second half.do u remember the 7th grade game at sanders?

  7. Fballfn says:

The “dogs” are a joke and without the refs in there pocket they would be lucky to go .500 8th Grade cowboys ran them in the ground again last year. Chuck Poe the 04 and 07 8th grade Cowboys owned this City and State from 2nd grade on so give up my man.

While I was coaching it was not thought wise to comment on sites.
I also am not on here to “Pub ” myself just feel people deserve to know who is making the comments.

  14. Raider Fan says:

Word has it that Blake Bell was working out with QB coach Steve Cisneros. Cisneros was the one that helped Chris Harper find the target and guided him to Oregon and coach Chip Kelly. Cisneros has worked on mechanics with notable college QB’s like DC Jefferson Rutgers, EJ Manuel FSU, Jacory Harris Miami, Star Jackson Alabama, Eddie Mcgee Illinois, and Byron Leftwich. Blake if he continues to work with Cisneros will have a chance to be an elite 11 kid.

  15. Opportunity Knocks says:

Does Cisneros get paid for this? If so, look out, here come the haters again.

  16. Chuck Poe says:

Steve Cisneros is a good friend of mine and a Graduate of
North High who works for the the Government in Topeka..Ok now those are the only 2 bad things about him,LOL Just kidding. He has family here and tries to help kids from around here when he gets a chance .He worked with Chris last summer and had a friend at Oregon that he made while working for Scout.com while he lived in Florida. He knew the Offense fit Harpers style and introduced the two.
Steve has been in Wichita several times this summer working with kids and making calls to college contacts .It is not his job ,it’s his Passion. Some people don’t understand the difference. We seem to always assume the worst of people. If someone on this site would think ” Johnny” from some school was a great kid and tell a friend that was a coach at a college we would ask how much do you think he made for doing that. When it should be something we do automatic for the kids in Kansas.I have been to several camps this summer and coaches and scouts ask about players from around here.I tell them as much as I know and how to contact them.
I do it because it is the right thing to do ,not because I can
make a buck.We all need to enjoy the game .
