Wichita Area Running Backs: And the Runner-Up Is…

It’s pretty much unanimous that Bryce Brown is the best back in the area. If you disagree with that feel free to speak you mind, however it’ll be hard to prove your point considering he’s the best back in the country per Rivals.com. {Edit: It was first said that Brown was the second or third best back in the nation. However, several websites have him as the No. 1 running back in the 2009 class}
Who’s the next best guy? There are several other backs that are looking to have great seasons this year. Joseph Randle (Southeast), DeMarcus Robinson (Northwest), and Aaron Wilson (Derby) are just a few whom I’ve actually got a chance to meet. But I know there are others. This is a run-oriented state, isn’t it?
So if you were voting for a pre-season second team back, who would it be?

There are several out there this year and different backs are better for different systems.I feel Demarcus Robinson is the next man in line but Dinwittie from Hutch is good too.And yes Randle was 2nd leading rusher last year.I do feel Randle is a BIG TIME D-Back,I would say the best in Wichita and I feel thats his ticket to D-1.All these guys have great gifts and I know it’s fun to try and rank them but truth is any of these guys could be better on different nights.

Wilson for Derby won’t put up huge rushing numbers because of his lack of breakaway speed, but definatley expect at least 1,000 yards from the kid who put up over 900 yards playin 15lbs underweight during his junior campaign. Wilson put on 30+ lbs over the offseason which should improve his power. Also watch him coming out of the backfield catching passes from QB Jake Snodgrass in Derbys wideopen Spread offense.

Let’s throw Dylan Knox from Kapuan in the mix. With Torgler graduated, Knox should be the featured back.

i would have to say that randle is second best going by what we have seen so far.heights has 2 senior backs that i think will surprise some people this year.they are richard dixon and larance schrimscher.neither has done much yet in h.s. but i think there time is now.

dyllon knox is one of the best…………………. 13 carries for 140 yds and didnt even play in the second half against northwest.
