Carroll vs. Heights (a final)
Sept. 4, 2008 @ 9:15 p.m. by Joannaby joanna
Update: Just got the e-mail that Heights wins 24-21.
OK, I was only there for a half, but I thought some of you out there might want to know what happened — at least something. Jonathan is covering the game.
Carroll scored on two big pass plays, while Heights was able to score two touchdowns and then a late field goal to lead 17-14 at the half. Heights then opened up the second half with a long run of (according to KGSO) 75 yards. It was a 10-point game in the fourth.
It was great to be out there for high school football. The place was packed. Cars lined both sides of Hillside and people had to park near the soccer field. It was a great atmosphere, though.
Were you there? Do you have an update?

I was there for the whole game and I just read the article that Jonathan has in the Eagle this morning. I think it is terribly pro- Carroll not giving Heights the props they deserve!!!! Heights didn’t “hold” off Carroll - they WON the game! Heights has the best offensive line and the best defense in the city and proved it last night! How many times did their quarterback get sacked versus Heights??? Like Carroll was just holding back or something!! It IS what it IS. So just say it and give them what they deserve!!! Heights is an AWESOME football team this year and they have a huge chance of being City League Champs.

The best defense usually doesn’t give up 310 yards passing. Heights made the plays when they needed too and got the win against a Carroll team that will get better as the year goes along and when they get Joe Brown back. Much props to Heights on getting the win a great first game of the season.

heights has the best defense hands down everybody knows that adrian hall, ian knight , phillip iheme, dorrian roberts and joey barnes come on now. and what u mean “adrian hall is better than ian knight” like hes bad or something i mean carroll made that a big thing to not let him get around to that quarter back because he would tore him up

cfootball– are u trying to talk bad on knight when u say that adrian hall is better? hall is better.hall is the best d.e. in wichita and his stats will prove it at the end of the year.the only reason he is not being more recognized is because he is small for a end but there is not a d-lineman in the area that is faster and speed kills.keep up the good work adrian!!

ian knight is good and i know he is being recruited by d-1 schools.hes just not the type of player that jumps out at u but he does get the job done.if hall can switch to db he will be a college player too.

garrett does have d-1 size but he is no way as fast as hall.hall ran a 4.4 at camp.kraft has never done that and dont even try to claim that he has because u will be lying.garrett is fast enough though but the only problem he has is he is not consistent.anyone who knows garrett at all will agree that his mind wonders in games and u dont know what to expect.one play he is an all-star and the next he is in lala land.if he can get his mind right and get healthy he can earn a college scholarship and i hope he does as he is a nice kid.
