Name your most painful game you’ve seen

After thinking about all the exciting games I’ve seen over the years, I started to think about heartbreak. I know we’ve all been there. Whether you were at the game in person or watched it on TV, we’ve experienced that horrible feeling in the pit of our stomachs as our teams lost. I’ve interviewed plenty of athletes and coaches after heartbreakers — nothing worse than seeing a person crying.
The most painful game I’ve ever seenĀ (I saw it on TV) was when the Minnesota Vikings lost to the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship for the 1998 season. My God. That was terrible. It was such an amazing season, and it just ended in such bad fashion. I didn’t even watch the lead-up stories to that Super Bowl. Just too painful.
So how about you? Have you played in a game where your team lost? Had a kid where it happened to him/her? Or were you like me and you were at a game or watching one on TV where your team lost?
Let’s hear about it.

1993 Derby vs Lawrence State Championship game at Manhatten. Twice in the first half Derby had points taken away by the ref’s. Derby’s running back rolls over the pile and lands on his feet and runs into the end zone. Nothing touched the ground but his feet and it wasn’t even a close call to make. Derby settled for a field goal. The in the 2nd quarter Derby scores a touchdown via the pass only to have the ref throw a flag for for an illegal block when the blocker hit the defensive player coming back towards him a hit chest to chest. 11 pts taken away and Derby loses a close game.
However 1994 Derby left no doubt as they dominated Lawrence on both sides of the ball. Ganggreen defense destroyed Lawrence offense. Nothing the refs could do in this one.

the most painful game ive ever seen, i was actually playing.
it was the maize vs southeast game in 2002
John Randle went off for 347 yards. but is was his 3 or 4 fumbles that kept us in the game.
We(maize) lost on a field goal soaring wide right as time expired..
