Small-class football discussion (10-11)

In Eight-man I, Claflin (4-2) handed Pretty Prairie (5-1) its first loss. Claflin is a tough team that has played a tough schedule.
Smith Center (6-0 in 2-1A) beat a tough Colby team (4-2 in 4A) 40-0. Nice win for Smith Center.
So who do you think is playing particularly well? What team is coming on strong lately? Eight-man is deep into districts already, who’s going to come out of those districts?

Smith Center has been giving up 9.5 points per game? What a bunch of slackers.

Cunningham vs. Quivera Heights in a couple weeks will be a big time game in 8-man II.

You missed the Argonia – South Haven game. Argonia lost 30 to 34. It was tough, nail-biter to the very last second.
Did anyone see this game?

Quivera heights should beat cunningham by 20 at least. All cunningham has is good speed, if q heights hits them a couple times, cunningham will be done. It’s just too bad cunningham was scared to play pretty prairie this year, we won’t have a clear league champion, they’ll have close to the same record, but everyone knows pp would beat em.
Claflin is a good team, but pp should’ve still beat em. We had them down 40-14 going into the 4th, but they got the stiff wind behind them in the 4th and their pass game beat us. oh well, we move on to get ready for goessel in a few weeks, hopefully our pass d improves by then.

Agree…QHHS over Cunningham by at least 20. When they get their full squat back no one will touch them. State 8 man II champs.

Deb-
Anytime South Haven can go into Argonia and come out with a win, it’s pretty special. And to keep the Raiders out of the end zone on the last play of the game was also tremendous.
I think the Cardinals will dominate the rest of the district schedule and should go pretty deep in the 8-II playoffs again this year. They aren’t ranked top 5 for nothing.

QH and South Haven fans, hold your horses. There’s an undefeated team named Victoria who’s number one. Heard of them? As in two state championships since 2004. As in one of only three programs to win state titles in BOTH 8-man and 11-man.
QH fans, didn’t your team blow a 28-6 lead at Victoria and lose 42-28?

David you are right…we did lose. Again, when we have a full squad the outcome will be different. That is assuming they are all back by PO time….I was not at the Victoria game but they must be pretty good. I am actually a QHHS fan as I graduated from there many years ago. My brother has a son who is one of the currently injured players. I believe he was actually hurt during the Victoria game.

I wouldn’t be so sure about cunningham being scared after hitting them once or twice. The South Haven-Argonia game had an ending that people will talk about for years to come. Argonia has their back to the wall this week playing at Norwich for a spot in the playoffs.

Goessel is pretty good, and they beat claflin 42 to 12 in about few weeks ago… I think they should be ready for pretty praire, hopefully.
Goessel is really fast, and I hope that p.p is ready…

JMJ, yes it was special! lol
Am looking forward to the game against Dexter this week. I’ve fought the urge all season to paint my face as I did last year. This is obviously not something that is done frequently in Kansas. But…I’m all ready for Friday. Maroon paint and all! :D
Go Cards!
