First, congrats to Kapaun Mount Carmel for winning another City League title. The Crusader clinched the title after their game with East ended in a tie last week.
Speaking of the City League, North and Liberal kicked off the North Cup yesterday with solid wins. Today’s action starts at 3:30 p.m. with two city league teams who have surprised a lot of people this year in East and West. Kapaun and Independent are scheduled to follow at 5:30 p.m. If East and Kapaun are able to pull out victories it would produce a second East-Kapaun match-up.
Here’s the rest of the North Cup Schedule:
Semifinals
Liberal vs. North; Wed, 5:30
East-West winner vs. Kapaun-Independent winner; Thurs, 5:30
Finals
Saturday 3 p.m.
Thursday’s Maize at Southeast game should be a pretty good game. Rose Hill travels to Elyria and Derby is at Hutchinson.

Rose Hill-elyria was played already this season. Game got moved up to mid-sept. Rose Hill won 9-0. The Rocekts don’t play until Saturday at Independence.

Thanks for mentioning Derby, Joanna and thanks again Jonathan for coming to the Derby/Salina Central game last Thursday, I knew you wouldn’t be disappointed although Derby came out on the short end but it was still a great game. I have faith Derby will bounce back against Hutchinson and put in another great performance to take them through post season play. Go Panthers!

Jonathan - Derby has a great comeback last night at Hutchinson after the stinging 1-0 OT loss to Salina Central last Thursday and another amazing performance by the “Derby Duo”. Austin Steadman logged another goal in the game vs. Hutchinson while Christian Gilmore scored a goal and an assist. Derby wins 3-1!
