The Goddard/St. John game was not an upset. St. John is a very well-coached team and plays defense unbelievably well. For sure the best team won. As for the "depleted" Lions, don't feel sorry for Coach Keller. He has girls on the bench that can play, he just refuses to give some of them a chance. If you have watched them all year, you realize that they are not that good. The only reason they have won as much as they have is because girls basketball is down this year (at least the teams Goddard has played). They have lost to all of the good teams they have played. Lindsey Keller is really good but she can't win every game by herself. Kija Hart is playing well but she would still be coming off the bench if some girls hadn't got hurt. Take those two out of the game and make the other girls beat you. They won't. That is exactly what St. John did.

Goddard had an outstanding season last year. We lost most of our starters after the season. A team can't have a great year every year and it doesn't matter what happens in this tournament, what matters is what happens in the state tournament. Not saying that the Lady Lions will get as far as they did last year, but they won't be horrible.

Goodard I cant say has every played that good in the tournament. Two years ago they were really bad. No depth. Hasn't changed. You got to remember that even thought St. John moved down to 1A this year it is easier for these girls to have alot more continuity. They have played together for years, since that YMCA ball. Cornwell is having her way with Keller out and if you don't have size you aren't going to compete. Wow, and for Mac. This has to be the worst team ever. James mostly what they had last year and the didn't develop anything. Times a changin. For Buhler< Friesen is either on or off. Def. the best athlete on the team so that will hurt and but at least they have a little more depth than some teams. That is too bad for her as such a good kid. Honn will have to step it up and Wise.
