Just checking out thebiglead.com over lunch, and ran across this story from govols.com.

OK, so there’s a correction that this 13-year-old, Evan Berry, hasn’t been formally offered because that would be against NCAA regulations.

But what would make him commit?

Regardless. We’ve seen it in basketball, now football. Such early offers are amazing. I wonder if Rick Pitino has seen my 6-year-old. The kid has sweet handles and a great jump shot. Of course, he did just lose one of his front teeth, so he looks a little odd. But he’s got skills!

Your thoughts?

Way too young. The human body is a funny thing. What if he doesn’t mature or he is already a full blown man and is dominating kids his age because of that? And your 6 yr old has game, I’m sure Rick will be calling soon, along with John Calipairi, he might be a good fit with the Dribble Drive Motion at Kentucky if he has handles and can finish.

With the new Tennessee coach he very well could have offered this kid a scholarship. Doesn’t appear to pay attention to any of the NCAA rules anyway.
