Kentucky offers Ellis

Perry Ellis, a rising sophomore at Heights, received a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky said his mother, Fonda Ellis.

John Calipari, Kentucky’s new basketball coach, also offered Ellis while coaching at Memphis last season.

The 6-foot-8 Ellis is the reigning Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year averaging 19.2 points and 11.7 rebounds as a freshman.

This should have been expected. Calipari was going hard for Ellis at Memphis. It’s only fitting that he’d do the same at Kentucky, where the tradition and resources are more abundant.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. I don’t expect Ellis to make a commitment this early. And even if he does, it doesn’t take much for a coveted recruit to make a move elsewhere. If you don’t believe me, look at what’s going down with Xavier Henry, a top-recruit in this year’s class.

Perry, stay away from the dribble drive motion! It’s not post player friendly, look at the kids coming out of memphis they are swing players, such as Evans, Rose, and CDR. Go somewhere where you can develop your post game and get to the next level

Besides has Calipari won a national title, NO! Dribble drive is overated and is really not that high scoring of an offense. The only reason it has been successful is because of guards like Rose, CDR, and Evans. Calipari has yet to really develop a good post player except maybe Marcus Camby and that was before the dribble drive. Patrick Patterson is going to hate the new offense and Ellis should stay away. This year it will be the John Wall show. I say let Henry and his hands on father go. His father is going to ruin any chemistry they might have. I hope they have enough basketballs at Kentucky to go around.

It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place
