Kapaun vs. Carroll on ESPNU

As expected, the Oct 9 Kapaun Mount Carmel-Bishop Carroll football game will be on ESPNU.

This is the second time the City League will be showcased on ESPNU. East played at Dodge City in 2007 in a game televised on ESPNU. (Arthur and Bryce Brown played for East at the time, and Dodge City had then-Arkansas commit Kale Pick. But Pick, a quarterback, didn’t play because of an injury. He later decommitted and committed to KU, where he is now.)

Showcasing this game isn’t a surprise. While it would have been nice to have Carroll at Northwest (two Division I commits in BC’s Blake Bell to Oklahoma and NW’s Demarcus Robinson to K-State) and while Kapaun doesn’t have that star power, it looks like it will be a good game. It always seems to be.

Bell threw for 350 in 2008 against Kapaun. Kapaun’s improved, but does it really matter? This is one of the best rivalries in the City League in any sport (the other bests would be Heights-Southeast, Heights-East, East-Southeast in basketball).

This will be the second time that Bell has been on ESPNU, though.

On Thursday night, the Elite 11 quarterback camp — which Bell attended this summer — will be showcased on ESPNU at 6 p.m., according to Bell’s dad, Mark.

Good for the city league even better for Blake always cool to see a kids dreams come true.

This game is always something to see.

quick question. but why did they switch it from NW Carroll to Kaupan Carroll?

  • ZZZZ

Carroll-NW scheduled at NW…..ESPN wanted game at Carroll and NW wouldn’t give up home field.

  • Hovpen

That is understandable. There is better parking at NW :)

Don’t fret… the Carroll-Northwest game will be shown on live KCTU, Channel 43.1, then tape-delayed Sunday at 9 AM on Channel 43.3, plus five replays on the USD 259 channel.

GANG GREEN DEFENSE!!!! we gonna tear up dem crusaders

  • blah blah

KMC will be a huge surpise this year. Saw them at camp, easily top team there. I’m sure Carroll has improved since then, but this will be a much better game then the games in the past.

when did k-state go division 1?

  • out of the loop

When Nebraska started playing Division II football, it opened up a spot.

LMAO ! Kstate fan is so entertaining and we wonder why Kansas high school football players have such a hard time getting respect.
