I’m going to make this an open cross country post. Taylor Eldridge is busy doing his job in Wamego, so feel free to post your thoughts and any results. I’m sure he will follow up today.

Collegiate won the Class 3A volleyball title, defeating Phillipsburg 25-17, 25-19.
Congrats to Collegiate. What a turnaround for that program. Just two years ago the Spartans had yet another losing season. Last season the Spartans finished with a winning record, and this season they won the MCAA title, the first in school history. Great run for the Spartans.
The matchups are set, and starting Tuesday playoff games kick off across the state.
Print out your bracket (all seven classes) here. New this year, we’re rolling out VarsityKansas’ Pick the Winners contest.
Do you like filling out brackets in March? And high school playoff football? Then consider this a bit of November Madness.

Just back from Heights beating host Derby 27-0 to win the district title and secure a home game next Friday against South (which beat Heights 20-19 earlier in the season). Heights played extremely well, especially on defense.
Heard that Kapaun’s Dyllon Knox went for 305 yards tonight. Congrats to him on that accomplishment. Junction City, the defending champ, loses 9-7 to Manhattan on a last-second play to end up 1-2 in district and won’t be going to the playoffs. Tough, tough district. Tough, tough ending.
Where were you? What games, players, teams do you want to talk about?

Another two-part discussion topic: Did you see any good football last night or will you be heading to football tonight, volleyball today and Saturday or cross country on Saturday?
The second part is, what is your favorite candy at Halloween? I’m all about Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I could eat them until I get sick. Not that I’ve ever done that.

I’ll keep updating this preview throughout the day on Friday, so keep checking back.
No time to waste, let’s get right down to it.

Just got back from Andover Central’s win over Wichita Trinity to get into the 4A playoffs.
If you were at a game, feel free to share.

I’m heading out to see Andover Central play W. Trinity at Cessna Stadium. Should be a good game and the winner advances to the playoffs. I love games that mean something!
Northwest running back Demarcus Robinson needs 210 yards tonight to break Bryce Brown’s City League rushing record. Again, I love a game that means something.
So where will you be? Got any predictions?
