Below are the state volleyball pairings.

Check out 4A — all three area teams, Cheney, Rose Hill and Valley Center are on the same side of the bracket (with Hayden).

No doubt in my mind the Collegiate v. Hillsboro matchup will be big. Also looking forward to Cheney v. VC and Rose Hill will be great to watch as well!

  • matha

Joanna- they all avoid St. James until the final four though.

  • CHS FAN

Cheney should easily beat VC and Rose Hill. Even though these teams are their only losses for Cheney this year, they should beat them, their the better team by far.

  • VC/VB

    Hey, CHS FAN,

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • love competition

Rosehill and Valleycenter are cheney’s only losses but they should beat them easily? Brilliant post [way to ad fuel to the fire]

    GO ROCKETS!!!!

  • easternksgirl

In 3A watch Central Heights–they are young but could surprise/

  • randy

CHS fan, I fail to see anything logical that supports your contention that Cheney will “easily” beat VC. Nor do I predict VC will “easily” beat Cheney. All I have to base that on is their match at Goddard. What do you base your assertion on?

Cheney is a very good team but so is Valley — as I presume are Abilene and St. James and Hayden and …

    Joanna –

Don’t forget Valley Center is the third seed in 4A. With a win over Cheney, I call that a toss up.

  • You got to be kidding

I bet if Rose Hill or Valley Center played in the CPL they would also be 37-2

  • CHS FAN

First of all I will apologize for that last post. I understand that it makes no sense. My bad. But now I’ll explain what I was trying to say.

I don’t believe that Cheney will beat either of them easily. This is state, nothing comes easy. I’ve been to every Cheney VB game this year and they had very off matches against VC and RH. RH it was the first match of the year, and they couldn’t pass to save their lives. It was ugly. I know since then they’ve worked hard in passing during practice and it has shown. I think it will be a whole different game this time around.
I don’t really know what happened against VC. They played horrible (as they did last year during pool play of the Goddard tournament). This is the match I’m most worried about, it will be close.

As for Cheney having a 37-2 record in the CPL: they are 9-2 in the AVCTL, pretty good I would say. I’d like to see an AVCTL team play GP 3 times a year and win all 3. This is the defending 3A state champs GP team that went 28-26, 25-22 against Collegiate on Saturday.

Also this group of girls at Cheney WANT this. These seniors were all at state as freshmen and juniors. Anything less than 3rd will be considered a disappointment. If it wasn’t for the darn private schools then anything less than 1st would be a disappointment. I ultimately think this is what will help them beat VC and RH.

i think this will be southern coffey countys year. I think the titans have wht it takes in the 1a. They have worked their tails off for the lst 3 to 4 yrs, I just like to say congrats to the titans and to all the teams that mae it this far, State is the place for the best of all teams. ONce agin gl to all of you

  • love competition

Rosehill does not play freshman on varsity. Probablly a good thing for any of there opponets. Because there freshman team has a libaro, setter and hitter that could play for just about anybody in the state. Also chs fan I hope you do not play as bad as you did against Rosehill and VC, or you will be heading home early.

  • CHS FAN

well Cheney beat Rose Hill and VC today. Beat VC in two.
