Another two-part discussion topic: Did you see any good football last night or will you be heading to football tonight, volleyball today and Saturday or cross country on Saturday?

The second part is, what is your favorite candy at Halloween? I’m all about Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I could eat them until I get sick. Not that I’ve ever done that.

    Saw some good futbol last-night, and not the oblong kind! Maize defeated Garden City 4-1 to wrap up their second regional title, two years in a row and move on to the Elite 8 round in 6A soccer.
    Dodge City beat Wichita Northwest 3-0 in the other regional final out in Dodge and the Wichita Southeast vs Wichita East game was postponed after the first half, due to the swimming pool that developed on the field and instead of soccer, became a water polo/swim meet! Don’t understand why they even started this one! Anyway, Swim Mom would have thourghly enjoyed it! LaneTech provided some cool video he put together with music on Youtube. Check out this link:

    Hey Jo, trying to post a youtube link that LaneTech did of the SE vs East regional final yesterday, that ended up getting postponed. It’s all good, but being put under moderation to see if deemed safe. Put it on, you’ll literally get a kick out of this one!
    My favorite Halloween candy…umm…Snickers, Baby Ruth or anything chocolate!

    Sunrise has a great football team this year, not a KSHSSA team (lucky them!), but they are really good.

    Both teams agreed not to watch any video of the 1st half of that match, players and coaches. Why make it easy to violate by posting online?

    great video on soccer game. I agree the game should never have been started. At least it was 0-0. Reminds me back when my son’s Club Azurri team played a semi tournament game on a field like that at the Emporia tournament. Water was 6 inches deep in places.

    has anyone heard scores from the 3A state vb tourney in Salina? They’re the only site that I can’t find any online scores/updates.

    I plan on being @ the Derby/Heights game tonight. Derby should win this game based on the defense they have. If they can just score when they have the ball! Watched Heights early on in the season not very impressed @ that time. Have not seen Derby for about a month other than reading & hearing from a couple of very pro Derby fans. Sounds like the defense has stayed pretty strong however. Saw the paper had a spot on one of the d-backs yesterday Kennedy. Article mentioned they may have the best secondary in the area. I know I have mentioned before how impressed I was with #5 the corner. Sounds like the entire group has been pretty good. Derby guys who is the other d-back ? I know Hegepeth,Kennedy,Payne. I assume Payne is still playing well & hegepeth is back on defense? Last game I saw he was only playing receiver. My co-workers cant remember the other guys name or #. Derby 21 Heights 7.

    Collegiate v. Phillipsburg should be a great match (maybe the eventual championship match??). Wish I could watch!

    i posted the links but it’s ‘awaiting moderation’. So just go to the Topeka Expocentre site for 5/6A. KSHSAA has results for 1/2A site on the State VB link.

    I’ve found scores for all classes on KAKE & KWCH but they were wrong. KAKE just corrected the first round of 3A to show the correct winners, KWCH hasn’t done that yet. Still only one or two rounds (depending on which site you’re on) for the 3A tourney.

    you can find a link to the expocentre (5 & 6A) through the KSHSAA volleyball page, 1 and 2A are updated directly on the VB page through KSHSAA…but running slow.

    I just got a text from someone at the 3A tourney. (1) Kismet-Southwestern Heights, (4) Richmond-Central Heights, (2)Collegiate (who won all 3) and (3)Phillipsburg will be playing tomorrow.

    Collegiate won all 3 in pool play. They will play SW Heights who lost to Central Heights in 3.

    No game tonight, packing up to go to a swim meet tomorrow. I love Reeses, or any chocolate/peanut butter combo.

    I can’t imagine playing soccer in a field with that kind of water. Ridiculous. I can’t imagine playing soccer on a dry field. I tried a league once. Kicked my butt and I was in good shape back then! Didn’t enjoy running non-stop for an hour… I admire those kids.
