2012 ranking where Ellis isn’t No. 1
Nov. 11, 2009 @ 12:01 p.m. by Joannaby joanna
Paul Suellentrop, our WSU beat writer, told me about this ranking. Check it out here. But the ranking has Spearville’s Willie Cauley (who has been offered by Kansas State) No. 1 for the class of 2012, with Heights’ Perry Ellis No. 2. East’s Nathan Jackson is third.

Nathan Jackson is very underated. He’s a solid player and if he ever develops a “mean streak” he could be tops in his class by the time he graduates. Also, Joanna, that list is very KC biased. All the flagrant foul/kc prep hoops guys are KC writers. I can’t believe there is no mention of Christian Ulsaker, a 20 pt scorer as a soph on that list. No mention of Cameron Cornelius, Jalen Love, Craig Nicholson. They should never combine Kc metro with south central kansas. They are two very different areas and leagues.

Caulley kid is not very good at all. Doesn’t matter what school offered him. Played at a school with 8 people in it or something like that. (And even against that compl didn’t play real well) And Perry would destroy him. The two should not even be talked about in the same story. Makes these people not look very smart about basketball that is for sure.
Kinda looks like MoKan guys made this list. Lol
And Nathan is not new to anything, anyone that watches basketball at all has known he is talented for a couple years now.
And a wichita team of 2012 kids would beat any kc team of 2012 kids. And if it got all the breaks, bounces went their way….they might even be able to take spearville!

I keep hearing about Nathan Jackson this year but I don’t think I saw him play varsity last year. Looking forward to his contributions for East, starting with Heights in game 1.

I got news for you, Perry Ellis isn’t that good. He is overrated, and plays to soft inside.

Follis, stick to opining on something you know about, like bowling. Anybody who thinks Perry is soft inside needs a new set of glasses or a different sport to follow.

kevin c, have you played against this guy, probably not. When I’ve played him he is soft on the inside even though he had a six inch advantage over me. I never said he was bad, he has room to improve though.

Follis, If he isn’t that good then I wonder how he averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds his freshman year? Yes, Everyone has room to improve that a good thing to keep you motivated and continueing to working hard. I am curious if you played him in a real game or just at the Y???????
