Nov. 18, 2009 @ 9:21 a.m. by Joannaby joanna
Just got the press release that Bishop Carroll at Hutchinson in the Class 5A semifinals at 7 Friday will be on Kansas 22. Below is the release
In a much anticipated match-up of undefeated high school football programs, Bishop Carroll and Hutchinson will play their Class 5A State Semi-final in front of a statewide audience on Cox Kansas 22. In cooperation with the Kansas State High School Activities Association, live television coverage of the game between the Golden Eagles and Salthawks will start at 7PM on Kansas 22 this Friday, November 20.
The winner of the game between Wichita Bishop Carroll (11-0) and Hutchinson (11-0) will advance to play in the state title game next Saturday in Emporia. The Salthawks have won 22 straight playoff games, and are continuing their quest for a sixth straight state championship. Meanwhile, Carroll is led by quarterback Blake Bell, who has orally committed to play football at the University of Oklahoma. The Eagles last won a Class 5A State Championship in 2007.
“This is yet another wonderful addition to our Cox cable line-up.” said Kimberly Edmunds, senior vice president and general manager of Cox Kansas/Arkansas. “Both Carroll and Hutchinson are among the elite high school football programs in Kansas. It is truly an honor to share this unique viewing opportunity with Cox Cable subscribers on Kansas 22.”
Joining veteran sportscaster Mark Ewing in calling the action from Hutchinson will be former NFL veteran lineman Rich Baldinger, who will serve as color analyst, as well as sideline reporter Mark Davidson.
Following the live broadcast, the game will be replayed on Kansas 22 on Monday, Nov. 23 at 7 PM. The game will also be made available for a limited time in the Free Zone under local sports On Demand from Cox. On Demand is free to Cox Digital Cable customers.

I really wish somehow other local stations would get involved. This is a big time game and I know, like myself and others of those who do not have access to this specific channel and service would love to tune in!

Actually our Carroll team won 5A in 1978 and boy are we getting tired and old while the sons/nephews of a few on that team try to win #2. Go Eagles!
Glad its gonna be on tv because Hutch’s Gowan stadium is going to be a zoo with the fanatic following that both schools have.
