awesome to see all the derby kids who made league!
    congrats panthers!

when does all metro come out

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  4. HITMAN says:

Just a question…how is it that a kid who signs with a high major D1 school is only 2nd team all league? That is quite interesting!!

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  5. fan says:

Did I miss Div III and IV all league or has it not come out yet?

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  6. eagles Rock says:

it is all about stats this year, and not hype. there were so many kids who will move on to playing football next year so whether they made 1st team or not really doesn’t matter

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  7. mirulz says:

Collegiate is better than anybody ever in the HISTORY OF FOOTBALL! I do have one question however…how come Trace Clark made all MCAA on the OL instead of Jace Schultz or Myles Copeland?

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  8. always a spartan says:

first off who is SpartansRule? U are the type of people that make us and our school look retarded. Yeah won state and its tight but dont say dumb stuff like that, people need to stop pretending like they are from collegiate too. Mirulz chill buddy, your probably just some twelve year old kid that was just at the game, but yeah dont ask me why Jace Schultz didn’t make all MCAA, Myles Copeland made second team all conference though. All three of them are great players though.

  9. MCAA SUCKS!!! says:

the all league football teams are so dumb and messed up, who cares Collegiate won state! Dream team 09′

  10. Gatorade is Better says:

Yeah. How did Hedgepeth get second team at cornerback when he is going to Oklahoma State to play that position? When teams try to avoid throwing to your side, it usually means youre prettttty good.

  11. bill says:

If Bob Stoops goes to Notre Dame how does that affect Blake Bell’s OU recruitment?

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  12. DerbyDad says:

Bill why would Stoops take a pay cut to go to ND? Besides with the talent coming back at OU If they can be healthy they will challenge not only for Big 12 but also Nationally. They redshirted more talent than KU and KState have combined. Besides Landry Jones and Blake Bell OU has a redshirted freshman who may outplay both Bell and Jones to get the starting nod next year.
Now to the Eagle. Where is the Top 11? I used to really enjoy getting up Thanksgiving Day, fill me coffee cup and read the All State Teams and Top 11. Now with state championships played after Thanksgiving we can’t even get the All League teams until Monday? Why not the Sunday paper (which more readers take)?
Hedgepeth may be going to OSU but there were other DB’s who outplayed him. No disrespect to be 2nd team. You can’t have 4,5 or 6 DB’s on first team. That is why they have 2nd team and Honorable mention. So you get recognized for your outstanding play.

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  13. DerbyDad says:

Watch for Derby Soph LB Dylan Call to emerge as a legit D1 candidate If he continues to progress. I haven’t seen such a hitter on defense for Derby since Nick Reid played Safety and some LB for Derby. If Call gets somewhat bigger and stronger to go with his speed and the way he reads the opposing offenses the skys the limit for him. Congrats Panthers for a very good Season thanks for proving my early predictions wrong. GO GREEN

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  14. joanna says:

Derby Dad — I didn’t even have the Top 11 team actually picked until late Saturday night. We’ll have it in the Dec. 6 paper, the Sunday one week after state title games, as we have since the state moved its title games to Thanksgiving weekend.

  15. Voice of Reason says:

On a side note: isn’t it annoying when people on this board get multiple logins and then post as if they are all different people? Pathetic really…

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  16. mirulz says:

Voice of Reason thank you for saying what I wanted to say. It is sad that people hide behind a computer. I will just read from now on and enjoy the conversations. Identity theft sucks!

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  17. HITMAN says:

eagles Rock….how can you say it’s all about the stats? That’s bogus. Brett Soft broke his leg about 1/2 way thru the season and still made all league first team!! These all league teams are so political it makes me sick. Seems like some kids make it on either their name or what they have done in the past.

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  18. Voice of Reason says:

Actually mirulz I wasn’t speaking of identity theft, more identity duplication. Example: Person A has opinion X, and rather than just making a point about X Person A also registers as Person B and Person C and then makes identical points about X creating the illusion of multiple supporters of opinion X.

Man, that sounds too much like a story problem from math class. My apologies…

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  19. mirulz says:

None necessary and interesting concept. Oops broke my rule. See ya.

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  20. HITMAN says:

oh and btw eagles Rock if all that matters this year is stats then Blake Jablonski should be the #1 QB on the all metro team and not Blake Bell. Let’s see how your theory works out there!

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  21. KS FOOTBALL says:

Voice most posters hide behind a made up id anyway so whats the purpose of them adding another one ? I guess to have a conversation with thereselves.

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  22. KS FOOTBALL says:

The all league lists are comical to be sure but they do stir conversation. The Coachs all push for there guys to get picked deserving or not and the other coachs tend to vote for sr,s so you just have to take it for what its worth. On top of that they have misspelled names which really makes you wonder.lol

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  23. Gussy says:

How did Tyler Coughenour make the team? He was out half the season and really didn’t do much when he was healthy.

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  24. Gatorade is Better says:

Another thing that bugs me is for the AVCTL Div. I they have 3 safeties and only 1 corner listed for the “DB’s”. Shouldnt there be 2 safeties and 2 corners? If that was the case Hedgepeth would of made 1st team for sure.

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  25. yougo says:

How does matthews from Goddard not even make HM? Kid passed for over 1000 yards and got only a few snaps in the first three games. Collegiate = good 3A team but not even close to the big boys like Hutch, O. North, etc. Enjoy the kiddie pool!

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  26. KS FOOTBALL says:

Hes a soph for a horrible team, but be sure he will win his share of awards before hes done the kids a player. The “all league” team is not about best 11/22 it turns out to be more of a career award. In defense of the coachs who vote they are focused on the next game not who to vote for all league teams .

    [REPORT A VIOLATION]

  27. Crack says:

Hitman, my brother from another mother, you hit it on the head, it’s all about who you are, who your brother is, what does dad do for the school, kids get positions by entitlement not by earning a spot.
