(Updated at 1:20 p.m.)

I’m sure there are plenty of postponements out there — for all sports — so feel free to share what you have. The first postponement I have affects me, so we’ll go with that one first!

At McPherson, the Valley Center-Andale game scheduled for 4:45 p.m. today will be played Saturday at 10 a.m. The rest of the final games will all go as scheduled on Saturday. Today’s first game will be at 4:30 between Hays and Buhler and will go as scheduled from there.

Newton: Will go on as scheduled. Schools already knew that, and if they can’t make it due to weather, their games will be considered forfeits.

From Haven: Due to the weather and school cancellations, the games scheduled to be played on Friday January 29 will be postponed until Saturday January 30.  The games that were originally scheduled to be played on Saturday will be postponed until the following Saturday February 6.

Games will begin at 1 pm on both Saturdays.  Followed by games at 2:30, 4:00, and 5:30.  The match-up and times for games on Saturday Jan 30 will be:

2:30 – Haven (home) vs. Sacred Heart (visitor)

4:00 – Cheney (home) vs. Conway Springs (visitor)

The Southeast JV boys tournament for today and tomorrow has been cancelled as of about 11 am this morning. I got an email from Mark Lamb who said they will try again next year. It’s too bad that Wichita Public Schools had to cancel for no reason which causes the cancellation of a non-varsity tournament. In my opinion there is no reason why USD259 should have cancelled today. It’s not that bad outside

I was shocked that school was canceled so many places which caused the games to not be played. I agree they really jumped the gun on the whole situation. Good thing we they dont run thing like this in northern 1/3 of the country kids would be out of school for 3 months during winter.

One snow day is not going to hurt anyone. Sometimes it is better to be cautious and what better weekend to have snow to make you stay inside to watch KU/K-State!!!

    7. sbcoach says:

A snow day does hurt people when tournaments get cancelled and people lose money because of school being cancelled when it has no business being cancelled.

True. Money always comes before safety especially with teenage drivers. Glad you have your priorities in order!
