Summer is a crazy time for parents and athletes. There’s so many games, sometimes multiple sports, and often multiple kids. So how does everyone survive it?

It’s not so bad for us right now. We’ve got two in baseball, but they’re pretty young, so practices are limited and the games are always at the same place. We survive by having the car pre-loaded with chairs, treats and the baseball bag. I’ve got a bag packed with toys for the littlest one, more treats, sunscreen and bug spray.

This is minor for what some of you deal with, so fill us in. Do you know where the best places are to eat when you travel? Are your vacations planned around games? Do you have friends who help out with car pooling?

I work all the overtime I can to pay for the football/basketball camps, summer league, MAYB. I just have 1 child left at home. He gets up early every day for weights/football at 6:30 AM-9. Mon. nites he has summer league basketball, but that is finishing up next week. Tue, Wed. Thur he has basketball practice with school team 1000AM to 11:30 Am. Wed. nite he has basketball practice with his MAYB team. He has basketball tournaments Fri. nite, Sat, and Sunday.
I am not happy with the balance. He didn’t find a summer job, but when would he work? I need a vacation real bad. Sorry about the rambling. Summers are crazy.
