Another Tuesday night of basketball saw another classic Southeast-East game. East led the majority of the game, but Southeast played a much better second half and won 67-64 for its first win.
Conner Frankamp suffered a head injury at Carroll and didn’t play the second half. Carroll won.
A lawsuit was filed in Butler County district court today claiming former Andover High boys basketball coach Jason Stucky created a “pay-to-play” atmosphere by borrowing money from parents and tainting team tryouts.

The Kansas volleyball coaches association has released its all-state teams. These teams are selected by the coaches association’s member coaches.

A large number of those of you who participated in our predictions contest finished 6-1 this week. But the tiebreaker was how many points Conner Frankamp would have (34), and the winner is Rajiv Foster. Congrats!

A friend of mine talked to me during my son’s basketball game on Saturday and asked who is the one team he should see as soon as possible. Oh, the possibilities are endless.
I’m going to give you my thoughts, then fill me in on who you would send a friend to watch. This is regardless of sport.
It takes a lot to make my jaw drop, but I saw some shots in Heights 76-73 win over Northwest. Northwest’s Craig Nicholson hit a half court shot at the buzzer to end the first quarter. Northwest’s June Johnson hit a Kobe-like shot over a double team to keep his team in the game in the fourth quarter.
Perry Ellis threw down a ferocious tomahawk on a fast break that left me feeling a bit nasty. Then Evan Wessel flicked up a triple clutch layup that would have made Alex English crack a smile.
I feel like it was a good night for basketball.

I’m out at Cheney, where I watched the Cardinals beat the Collegiate girls, while the Collegiate boys beat Cheney.
Out at Northwest, Heights girls rolled past Northwest, while Heights boys won a tight one over the Grizzlies.
