I will be chatting live with Chris from 1-2 p.m. today, so make sure to stop on by. We can hit whatever topic you want, including postseason basketball and any of the spring sports that have just gotten going.
In his season opener Campus’ Alec Meier faced the same team he threw a perfect game against last season. Meier only got to pitch three innings in his team’s 17-0 win over Wichita South, but he didn’t give up any hits. Check out the video.

I had planned to cover the Bishop Carroll at Maize softball game tonight, but it was postponed until Friday. But I had softball on my mind, so I went to High Park in Derby.
I froze my limbs off watching softball tonight, but it was worth it. Derby had two come-from-behind wins, beating Manhattan 2-1 with a game-winning hit by Kennedy Long. The Panthers then beat Northwest in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run single by Kayla Oldham.
Northwest has an outstanding lineup, too. Mac Millspaugh struck out 12 of 18 in the 12-0 win over Manhattan. Northwest won 12-0, scoring all 12 runs in the third, on 11 hits.
Other results from tonight include Maize, Heights and Northwest soccer getting wins.

Are you ready for softball? I know I am. While we ran previews on Sunday, I’ll have my first chance to cover games on Tuesday when Bishop Carroll is at Maize. I can’t wait. What a way to get the season started!
