Outdoors writer Michael Pearce had a story in Sunday’s paper about the first state high school fishing tournament, won by McPherson.

It’s not a KSHSAA event, but it’s still pretty cool to see a different set of kids earn state titles. Do you think this could become a KSHSAA event? I know I wouldn’t be surprised by anything, especially if it catches on around the state.

Oh man, how I wish we had this when I was in, it would of been awesome! We were always out fishing/camping & so on during the weekends. Now days the kids are indoors more than outdoors.

Here’s one, do a 3 day/2 night map & compass coarse with no electronics. Now that would be some great competition & skill!
