What a week for the predictions contest. We had the most contestants yet this season. Awesome.
We have a tie between Kendall Hurst and Dwight Suderman, for record and for points on the tiebreaker. They will both get VarsityKansas.com T-shirts.
For this week’s contest, you will have until Friday again, and we’re only picking 5A and 6A games. Remember to give me total points for the tiebreaker game, and e-mail me your picks at jchadwick@wichitaeagle.com.
Good luck!
The City League volleyball team has been released. This is voted on by the league coaches. As other leagues send in their all-league teams, I will run them.
The All-Metro volleyball team and All-League teams will run on Wednesday, Nov. 9, in The Eagle and on VarsityKansas.com.

Well. Heights’ undefeated season nearly ended at the hands of Derby, which led 35-21 before Heights responded with a 49-35 victory for coach Rick Wheeler’s 100th win at Heights. Impressive showing by Derby, which has had an awfully good season — and I’m a huge Todd Freeman fan.
Carroll beat Hutchinson to end the Salthawks’ streak of 11 consecutive district titles. Carroll just played extremely well. So did Hutch. Carroll was just a bit better.
Kapaun got the win over Andover Central, McPherson beat Newton, Salina South beat Great Bend and Hays beat Salina Central.
Check below for video from the Hutchinson-Carroll game.

I saw an impressive 48-6 win by Andale over visiting Maize South to win the Class 4A-District 12 title.
Garden Plain came back to beat Halstead and advance to the Class 3A playoffs in what I’m assuming was an emotional game.
Northwest won big over South.
Clearwater beat Wellington and advances to the 4A playoffs.
Where were you tonight? Which teams impressed you? Which players?

Check out the videos below of Barry Sanders’ visit to North for a ceremony as part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Hometown Hall of Famers program.
A plaque of Sanders will remain at the high school. It was a pep assembly full of cheering and fun … and Barry. North put on quite a show.
It’s the last week of the regular season in football. Join Joanna Chadwick for a live chat today to discuss playoff possibilities and postseason cross country and soccer.
Northwest soccer coach Bobby Bribiesca joins Joanna for this week’s Big Show.
