North senior Conner Frankamp injures a foot

North senior Conner Frankamp injured the big toe on his left foot during a basketball tournament in St. Louis on Sunday. North coach Gary Squires said Frankamp, who just returned from a stint with the U17 USA Basketball team last week, will have his foot checked out on Tuesday.

    Let me say this about him. I admire the fact that he has stuck at North, not a basketball powerhouse, for his four years of high school, not seeking to transfer to a more consistently winning program or a basketball factory school. He is a terrific player.

    Missed the boat this weekend as the Midwest Wolverines, a Wichita based travel baseball team defeatged the Wichita Rawling’s Reds 17′s also a Wichita based travel team in the 40 team Great Plains Tournament of Champions tournament at Wichita State which finished up on Sunday.  Would have loved to see some local coverage on this.
     
    Conner needs a couple weeks vacation anyway.  Besides,  it’s not his shooting hand.
