Update on Conner Frankamp’s injury – 7/17
July 17, 2012 @ 8:53 p.m. by Tony AdameI just spoke with North coach Gary Squires, who gave me an update on Conner Frankamp’s visit to a local orthopedic surgeon today to examine the hairline fracture in Frankamp’s left foot.
Frankamp injured his foot on Sunday playing in an AAU tournament in St. Louis for Kansas City Run GMC. Here’s my story on Frankamp’s injury that ran in today’s Eagle and at Kansas.com.
Squires said the doctors told Frankamp, a Kansas commit and the nation’s No. 28 recruit, that he would only have to be in a protective boot for 4 weeks instead of up to 8, as they originally thought.
“It’s great news, of course,” Squires said. “It’s not as severe as they originally thought, but he’ll still have to get the OK from (the doctors) to start training again.”
