East is coming off a 2-win season that was definitely hampered by injuries, but coach Brian Byers believes this team will be better both offensively and defensively.

Key players are receivers JJ Normore and Garrett Gates, linemen Teryn Brown and Gilmar Barrera, running back Deonta Thomas and quarterback T.J. Sparr.

On defense, players to watch are linebackers Elijha Shelite and Deonta Thomas, and defensive linemen Michael Flynn and Carlos Brown.

How good do you think East will be?

How good do you think East will be?
Is that a trick question?  They will be as they have always been under Byers minus the Brown’s.  We just hope that the players at East can make it through this sub par coaching.  The good ole boy system is still in effect.

USD 259 really does need to reevaluate who they have leading
our kids.  Our kids need men of character,
and men that lead by example.  Come on USD
259 spend more time scrutinize the coaches you hire.  Our kids deserve more than a bunch of recycled
losing coaches.  I don’t mean losing on
the score board either.  I mean how many
kids have been directed to scholarship opportunities that participate in the
USD 259 sports programs.  I was told of a
baseball player from east that had a 3.8 GPA and a 28 on his ACT.  The kid is going to a junior college.  With those grades he should be at Johns Hopkins,
Carnegie Mellon, or a number of other schools where he could play ball and get
a great education.  Let’s start giving
other coaches a chance.  We need coaches
that can relate to the kids and who don’t speak ill of them and who actually
care about making a difference in one’s life.

Well it sounds like Terminator has it all figured out. LOL!
It would be nice to see some accountability in the football
program but as far as the baseball program goes, you won’t
find a better and more caring coaching staff in Wichita. This comes
from 4 years of experience dealing with these men. As for a student
athlete with a 3.8 gpa going to a juco, sounds like no other offers and a boy who
Wants to play baseball as long as he can. Coaches don’t choose where
They go, parents and the student do. Get your facts strait man.
