It’s been a wild and crazy up and down year for Boy’s Soccer around these parts and it could end up even crazier if you go with my predictions on what might happen with Regionals and Quarter-Finals for the South Central Region…then again, you might think I’m crazy. Oh well…here it goes!

Garden City will win it’s Regional and move on to Quarter-Finals. Wichita Northwest will win Regional 2 and move on and Maize will win Regional 3 and move on. Now here is where it gets crazier! Garden City would be 16-2 going into Quarters, Wichita Northwest would be 13-5 and Maize would be 13-4-1 going in. More than likely Manhattan would be the team from the Central Region dropping into the South Central for Quarters with a 13-4-1 record identical to Maize. Washburn Rural would be the other team coming out of the Central Region and would move up to the Northeast Region for Quarter-Finals.
If this is the case, Wichita Northwest at 13-5 would get the #4 seed in Quarter’s and would have to travel to Garden, who would get the #1 seed at 16-2 for Sub-State. A coin flip would determine whether Maize would go to Manhattan or Manhattan to Maize for the #2 and #3 seeds respectively for the other Sub-State game. We’ll see…good-luck to all the teams starting Regionals this week!
