The conversation just came up today about whether North’s Conner Frankamp and Ottawa’s Semi Ojeleye could both be named to the McDonald’s All-American team. My thoughts — heck, yeah, they should!
Frankamp and Ojeleye are putting up ridiculous numbers, they are dominating the competition and they are winning. Certainly, Frankamp is a different player.
Ojeleye is physical and can bang around inside while also hitting jumpers and from the perimeter and is averaging more than 40 per game.
Frankamp is a ballhandler, passer and a crazy awesome scorer. Put the ball in either one of their hands and defenses will cringe because these two will somehow find a way to score.
Frankamp has scored 40 or more points nine times in his career, including five times this season. He has scored the most points in the City League, 52, and has the second-most.
According to research by The Wichita Eagle, no other City League athlete has more than two 40-point games in their career.
Here’s MaxPreps’ view on whether Frankamp or Ojeleye will be named to the McDonald’s All-American teams. http://www.maxpreps.com/news/WlLUJdskskaQDpAPEhxahA/maxpreps-picks-the-2013-mcdonalds-all-americans.htm
